The
price is based on the current exchange rate of the Euro vs. the Dollar
(May 2008) i.e. any cost increases caused by a weakening dollar shall
have to be passed along to client.

At the famous Viennese Culinary Institute "Am Judenplatz" -at
the Haute-Cuisine Restaurant "Drei Husaren" for cooking classes
- at the eminent Café Diglas for a pastry demo-and the newly added
wine-pairing events at famous Austrian vintners. Spend a full week watching
famous Viennese chefs at work, trying your own hand at doing the cooking
and indulging in eating food and drinking wines from Vienna. Visit a famous
produce market with a chef from the school (and taste some of the wonderful
Viennese sausages). Attend morning classes at the leading Viennese Cooking
School "Am Judenplatz"; as a special treat attend a class at
the world famous haute cuisine Restaurant "Drei Husaren" &
enjoy the foods you will create. Attend a pastry demo at the "Café
Diglas" watching the pastry chef create an Esterhazy Torte; and as
a new feature visit well known vintners to learn about wine pairing and
taste white and red Austrian wines. Visit the Imperial Table Museum to
see the Habsburg porcelain collection. Dine at well-known Viennese restaurants.
And as you cannot go to Vienna without "tasting the culture"

ITINERARY FOR
"A
TASTE OF VIENNA" TOUR

1 |
Departure
from an airport in the United States to Vienna. You’ll be in a new
“old” world in the morning. |
| Day
2 |
Arrive
at the Vienna Airport and transfer with private coach to a charming Viennese
hotel, located close to the Inner City. Check in and relax in the comfort
of your room. In the afternoon you’ll stroll through the historic
Inner City of Vienna with an English speaking guide including a visit to
the historic produce market “Naschmarkt” (to see where the chefs
buy the produce) and the “Schokolade König” (a Viennese
chocolate maker’s shop), ending up for an early dinner in Vienna's
oldest restaurant,GRIECHENBEISL. |

Day
3
|
After
your buffet breakfast at the hotel you will attend your first cooking
class at the "DREI HUSAREN" Restaurant in the Inner City, where
you will receive instructions on cooking Viennese dishes. You will eat
what you have prepared in this elegant Haute Cuisine Restaurant.
You can spend your free afternoon in one of Vienna's museums or do some
shopping. Dinner on your own. |

4 |
After
your buffet breakfast you will attend your second cooking class at the
"DREI HUSAREN" Restaurant in the Inner City, where you will
again receive instructions on cooking Viennese dishes. You will eat what
you have prepared in this elegant Haute Cuisine Restaurant
In the afternoon you1ll go on your private sightseeing tour of the City
of Vienna with an English-speaking guide. Tour includes the Ringstrasse
with all its famous buildings and Schönbrunn Palace. Dinner on own
in one of Vienna's charming pubs, elegant restaurants or "Corner
Wurst-Stands".

5
|
After
buffet breakfast in the hotel you will go on a special tour with your
guide, visiting the Imperial Table Setting Museum to see the Habsburg
Porcelain Collection at the Imperial Winter Palace and the Lobmeyer Glass
Collection (whose chandeliers are at Metropolitan Opera);following
this you will go to the CAFÉ DIGLAS (one of Vienna’s oldest
bakery and pastry shop) with your guide where you will watch the pastry
chef demonstrating how to make the world-famous Esterhazy Torte; you can
have lunch at the Diglas on your own; the cake will be served as dessert
with coffee after your lunch .
You can use your knowledge of Vienna and stroll around or shop in one of the wonderful
shops you have passed on your walking tour. For dinner we suggest the
SKY Restaurant on top of a building in the Inner City with a grand view
and excellent food (optional). |

6 |
After
buffet breakfast there is your final cooking class at the world-renown Culinary
Institute "AM JUDENPLATZ" (this was the location where Herzerl
Tours brought the Food Network channel to tape the cooking show with Robin
Leach and Sally-Jessica Raphael) . Again, you will learn from a master chef
to prepare some of the well-known Viennese dishes and then partake of what
you have prepared for lunch. Afternoon is free for more explorations of
Vienna. We suggest an early dinner, which is on your own. In the evening
you will attend a chamber concert with music by Mozart and Strauss at one
of Vienna's Palaces, Palais Auersperg. |

Day
7
|
This
is your last day in Vienna and you have a free morning – you can
take the occasion and attend the Spanish riding School rehearsal or visit
the famous catacombs where the Habsburg emperors lay in their caskets.
In the afternoon you will set out with your guide by public transportation
(like a native) across the Danube to a vintner in Stammersdorf (still
part of Vienna). There you will taste whites and reds grown on the surrounding
hills from Wieninger (a family growing wines in Vienna for hundred years).
And then you will experience another Viennese tradition – the Heuriger
– where you will eat and drink and listen to Viennese music –
also at Wieninger’s. You return by public transportation to your
hotel.

8 |
AAfter
your last buffet breakfast you will transfer from the hotel to Vienna
airport in private coach with English speaking assistant for your flight
back to the USA.
Every
participant receives a certificate from: Am Judenplatz/Café Diglas/Drei
Husaren.
